Going for a criminal defense career

Last week, I was talking to my friend who lives in Texas. He is planning to pursue a career in criminal defense. I really admire him because I think being a lawyer means that you can actually defend people from different cases. We talked about his career path. He told me that being in this field can be rewarding and exciting whether you are in public or private sector. There are many options when it comes to employment because there are numerous law firms and organizations out there.
When planning to become a criminal defense attorney, there are areas in which you can specialized in. Some are kidnapping, DUI, domestic violence, felonies, paroles, murder, bail and some other. It is better to focus on one aspect because in this way, you can really do well in the area by knowing the ins and outs of everything about it. Criminal lawyer needs to have a good experience when it comes to trials. After being a certified lawyer, one might have an option to work in a prosecutor or public defendant’s office.
As for my friend, he wants to handle women and child rights. He wants to do well in his studies so he could get hired by the best San Antonio Criminal Defense Firm.

An addiction to Prescription Drugs

Normally doctors prescribe a certain drugs to relieve pain, treat mental illness among others. However people are beginning to abuse this by taking in what is more than prescribe. Doctors are the being held responsible for prescribing some drugs that are not necessary needed. This is used in order to get high or just to feel good. These prescription drugs can become addictive and there are consequences involved if it is misuse.
There are three kinds of drugs that are commonly misused. These are opoids, depressants and stimulants. Usually opoids are prescribed to relieve pain. Some of the well known opioids are codeine, morphine and certain pills like darvon and vicodin. Overused of these can lead to death. Depressants are given to relieve anxiety and panic attacks. Basically it slows down brain functions. Valium and Nembutal are the popular ones because of its calming effects. On the other hand, stimulants can speed up brain functions and usually given to those who have ADHD.
All of the prescriptions drugs if taken in large quantities can result to serious problem and even death. If you read some news, there are people using these in order to take their life. Although it is not that easy to get prescription drugs, people continue to get hold of them and that is a serious problem in itself.

STUDYING AFRICAN TRIBES

My friend Cara is a journalist and often times she goes to different countries to write articles about the culture of each country. Some of the countries that she already visited are Turkey , most parts of Europe, Australia , Germany and most South East Asian Countries. She is actually a linguist and can fluently speak different world languages, like Spanish, Mandarin, French, Greek and even Latin. That is why it is very easy for her to cope in the countries’ costumes and traditions.
Currently, she is in Africa studying the life and culture of different African tribes. She will use this for an article that she would write for a famous magazine. Just last week I received a letter from her. The letter told the experiences that she had there and her trip to one of the old diamond mines in the central part of Africa . She even added that the weather is so hot that the only footwear comfortable enough are beach crocs.
